A Visit from DBHDS Mobile Rehab Engineering
WOW board member Rebecca recently met Clinton from the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services' Mobile Rehab Engineering (MRE). The MRE team was developed in 2015 to meet the equipment repair needs of individuals who formerly had these needs met in institutions. It is hard to find people qualified to repair equipment in the community setting. Over the years, the MRE team has grown and now supports clients in all areas of the state. They complete home visits with a mobile shop - and even during the pandemic, are still coming to complete repairs outdoors or in the box truck workstation!
We were able to repurpose these items to the MRE team, so that wheelchairs and/or parts can be re-used to help others in need. Thanks Clinton for your help! Please click the link below to learn more about the Mobile Rehab Engineering program.
